Here recently, quinoa recipes seem to pop up every time I research healthy food options. I decided to do some investigation and post my findings here in this blog. Feel free to add any information as you deem necessary.
It would appear that this is a very old food source that has been used in South America for over 5000 years! Here is an excerpt from a recent article in the news: "Quinoa (KEEN-wah) is a powerful supergrain that's been used in South America for 5,000 years. A good source of protein, it's a great choice for vegetarian main dishes. Quinoa expands and fluffs up as it cooks, becoming tender with a delicate nutty taste. Available at health-food stores and many grocers, quinoa should be rinsed before cooking to remove its bitter coating." You can read the rest of this article here.
In this first post I am going to include a recipe for the first meal of the day...breakfast.
